At Huon Anglican we welcome families of all backgrounds and situations and understand the important contribution children and youth make to the life of our church. We encourage families with children and youth to get involved in the programs we offer. We'd love to walk alongside you as you seek to introduce your child to faith.

Sunday School

Sunday School runs at St James, Ranelagh every Sunday during school term. The program runs during the 9.30am Sunday service. Families gather together in the service, and the children are taken to the church hall next door after the first song. Children are reunited with their families before the Lord's Supper in the service. Sunday School involves craft, singing and story time, and the children usually cover the same passage that is covered by the adults during the church service.  Children and youth or all ages are welcome to join our Sunday School program.

All of our Sunday School leaders have undergone extensive Child Safe training and have current Working with Vulnerable People cards as required by State legislation. They have also provided referees.

Morning or afternoon tea is provided and all are welcome.

Mainly Music runs on Tuesdays, 10am-12pm during term time at 1 Louisa St, Ranelagh.

Child Friendly Space

We want families with children to feel welcome at Huon Anglican Church, we believe children bring joy and life to our Sunday Service.  Sometimes children may not feel comfortable at Sunday School, or perhaps you would prefer your children to remain in church with you.  That's why we have created a fun and inviting child friendly space in our church. Children can partake in the service if they wish, or they can enjoy time reading books, coloring or playing with an array of toys just for them.  The area is visible from most seats in the church, or you are welcome to sit with them in this special space while you all enjoy and partake in the service together.
