Our mission is to make all of life, all about Jesus. We have developed a Vision for our church which we aim to achieve with God's Grace by 2022. Learn more about our Vision and our goals here.
What We Value
Huon Anglican has seven core values which lie at the center of what we believe, who we are, and shape all that we do. Our values also guide how we hope to achieve our mission and form part of our Vision.
The Anglican Parish of the Huon has a long history, beginning in 1839 with the consecration of a wooden church (St Mary’s). Our current church building was completed in 1896 and is now heritage listed.
We gather every Sunday from 9:30am at St James in Ranelagh. Our Sunday service is an indispensable part of life at Huon Anglican Church and provides something for everyone in the family. New people are always welcome!
Meet Our Team
Rev John McQuillan
John and Kim moved to the Huon Valley in mid-2015. Together they seek to know and share Jesus in this beautiful part of the world.
John and Kim both grew up in Hobart, and moved to Melbourne for a number of years to study and work. Kim studied sports science and teaching, while John completed his theology studies.
John is particularly passionate about seeing a growing, healthy church which is focussed on Jesus.
Children and Families Ministry Trainee
Nicola is married to Tony and they have two children. She grew up in the Huon Valley and has been involved in Huon Anglican for a long time. She has a background in childcare and has a passion for children and their families.
Combining her background and passions, God is now using Nicola to share Jesus with children and families. Nicola is keen to see children included in the church community and to understand how much God loves them. She has a passion for nurturing families and to encourage them in disciplining their children.
