Getting Married at Huon Anglican Church
Congratulations on your engagement! Preparing to get married is a very exciting time and we wish you all the best during the coming weeks and months.
As Christians, we believe that God instituted marriage for His purposes and for our good. It is a great blessing of God to men and women and we hope that you will come to experience how good it can be. As such, if you're not a regular church-goer, we strongly encourage you to join us for some services on a Sunday before your wedding. Our church is not simply a pretty building for your wedding day, it is an active community of faith. Christian community contains a great support network to help you build a strong and healthy marriage.

The Huon Anglican Church has a number of beautiful locations suitable for a wedding. The church buildings are also in close proximity to some popular reception venues, such as Home Hill Winery, Willie Smiths Apple Shed, The Kermandie and the Huon Manor.

CAN I USE MY OWN MARRIAGE SERVICE?
Only authorised services contained in A Prayer Book for Australia are able to be used. Any aspects of these services can be discussed with the minister when you first meet up. The minister can provide you with a copy of these services to make your selection.
MUSIC
For many people, having music in their marriage service is an important part of the ceremony. Many options are available; we can use music on an MP3 player or CD. If you would prefer live music, you are welcome to arrange musicians. Hold off on this until you have discussed the service with our minister. An organist can be arranged by us at an extra cost.
WHAT COSTS ARE INVOLVED?
The basic cost of a wedding service at Huon Anglican Church is $650. This includes the use of the Church building, the minister and flowers placed in the church. Optional items are available for an additional cost such as an organist and use of the church Hall for morning/afternoon tea.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WANT TO GET MARRIED AT HUON ANGLICAN CHURCH?
Consider joining and attending one of our church congregations.
Arrange to meet with a Minister from Huon Anglican Church for a chat and to book the wedding date.
Expect to meet with that minister on a number of occasions to prepare wedding documents, talk about what a Christian marriage is, talk through the wedding ceremony and discuss the Christian faith in relation to marriage.
Expect to hold a wedding rehearsal in the week before the wedding day, at the church.
